The Grace of the Blessed Mother
On November 27, 1830, the Blessed Virgin appeared to Sister Catherine in the convent chapel. The Virgin stood upon a half-globe with her foot upon a serpent, and beams of light emanated from her hands, symbolizing the graces she bestows upon her devotees.
An oval aureole then appeared, inscribed in gold with the words: O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.
The Blessed Virgin instructed Sister Catherine to make a medal based on this apparition, promising rich graces to those who wear it.
